This sweet little poppet is Iris and we are looking for a very special home for her.
Iris was found by a member of the public inside a wheelie bin! She has been with us for quite a long time because her fosterer noticed that her breathing wasn't quite right. After extensive tests she was found to have feline asthma and she has responded extremely well to medication and is now very stable. Iris needs to have an inhaler twice a day for the rest of her life, but she is very good and sits for her inhaler with no problems. Asthma in cats isn't life limiting, as long as it is treated, I had a cat myself that had asthma for 13 years.
She is a very sweet cat, although she can be quite shy with strangers at first, and loves to play and be around people she knows and trusts. She currently lives with a cat friendly dog, but Iris is not fond of other cats. We are looking for a fairly calm environment for her, with only children over 9 yrs of age, and ideally she needs a home without carpeting, air fresheners and smoke free, as this will all help her asthma. She has very little interest in the outside world, although she does like to sit in the garden with her fosterer.
Iris is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated and she already has her own Aerokat mask to deliver her inhaler every day and we will help in any way we can to make sure any potential adopter is comfortable with doing this.
